Dancing with Dash

With a set of Dash robots from Wonder Workshop, I think it will be a fun challenge to have students write algorithms to make Dash do a line dance.  I'm going to model for students having Dash do the Macarena and then have students pick a line dance they would like to write an algorithm for.  There are so many great  variations for the code in this activity and students can be really creative while still working on the skills of writing an algorithm, using loops and nested loops and debugging.

In my own first few attempts I didn't get the timing quite right and needed to go back and debug my code.  I plan to show students the videos of each attempt and the changes to the code I made with each iteration of the algorithm.  I'm looking forward to seeing how students respond to this challenge.  However, we are on Spring Break ... so this challenge will have to wait a couple of weeks.
